01. Society As An Information Network (2008)
Quite an interesting paper where we (jointly with Paul Hodgson) investigate whether it is possible and beneficial to discuss identity and trust as a side-effect of social communication. The paper was presented at the Fourth International Conference on Technology, Knowledge & Society and has been published in the International Journal of Technology, Knowledge and Society. Abstract.

02. Identity and trust: Enabling layers of the future communication landscape (2008)
An invited talk for the eComm2008 (Emerging Communications) conference, discussing the position of identity and trust in the overall landscape of future communication. The 'identity' layer and the 'trust layer' are postulated and their properties are discussed, both from the perspective of the society being primarily an information network. Abstract.

03. Understanding the grounds to trust: game as a cultural probe (2008)
Joint paper with Natasha Dwyer, presented at the Web 2.0 Trust workshop at the IFIPTM 2008 conference , discussing the outcome of an experiment to use games to assess the level of trust. Conclusions are interesting, as it seems that in an absence of strong evidence people try to ascertain the level of trust from everything that they can get, quite often over-interpreting what they see. Abstract.

04. The Googleplex (2008)
Apparently everybody has to write something about Google, so that's my bit. This paper investigates logical consequences of future development of Google, from the perspective of identity, trust and control. Conclusions are interesting. Presented at ICEC'08 . Abstract.

05. Confidence-compensating privacy protection (2008)
This paper positions the desire to protect privacy as an indicator of diminished confidence. From there the model of confidence allows to structure different privacy protection tools. The paper end with conclusions that not only privacy protection is not always necessary, but also that one-size-fits-all solution is not the best one. Presented at PST2008 . Abstract.

06. Trusted Next Generation Messaging: Exploiting convergence in mobility solutions (2008)
The joint presentation at the Smart University near Nice. Interesting discussion of various aspects of trust: social, commercial and technical that underpin a challenge to design and deliver the next generation mobile trusted messaging system. Abstract.
